Web Designer I

Position Summary:

A brand keeper, with a focus on design, responsible for layout and production of web design solutions. This includes being responsible for team (client) revisions, mock-ups, and presentation materials.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field of study
  • Minimum of 2 years design experience in advertising or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years in web interface and layout design

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fluency in HTML/CSS, UI/UX, IA/Wireframes/Sitemaps and other basic Front-End fundamentals. Understanding of cross-browser/device design issues is a plus
  • Conceptual Creativity: Ability to think in abstract terms; can make connections between unrelated notions; can formulate innovative ideas where others can not; seen as original and value-added in brainstorming sessions
  • Interprets creative direction… Prioritize and multitask workloads appropriately in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Picks up on emerging technologies compliant with Front-End design principles; is good at learning new industry, company, product, and/or technical knowledge developments of the client's business as well as the agency business; has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment
  • Able to communicate effectively with clients to explain design decisions; must be collaborative with client suggestions and needs
  • Experience/proficiency with the Macintosh operating system, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Indesign, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office

Position Responsibilities:

Demonstrates behavior expected of a professional member of the organization including but not limited to:

  • Primary responsibility: to create web design concepts, including graphic design, and layout of content, as well as, overseeing visual designs all the way through to final execution
  • Interpret and extend new or existing brand guidelines to define, as well as, enhance the client's visual brand presence in multiple media channels. Exercise brand standard consistency and maintain brand stewardship for all client brand assets
  • Has strong design focus, sense and skills, and demonstrates the ability to learn quickly and handle multiple projects in a dynamic business environment
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving skills
  • Must have strong web design abilities and web production process knowledge
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Current on trends in web design, familiarity with design trends for social media integration
  • Delivers superior design work despite time restrictions
  • Ability to pick up projects mid-stream and carry visual consistency through all stages of design and production
  • Design and development of online advertising campaigns such as websites, microsites, landing pages, flash animations, banner advertisements and email campaigns
  • Possible offline projects include print design
  • Be a team player, with a positive, and can-do attitude!
